I was at a New Year's Eve party last night and asked to share a toast. I said "I enter 2025 with more dread and anxiety than any year I can remember, and I suspect it is the same for many of you, but at the same time it's a call for us bring forth our creativity and embrace the opportunities that surely abound around us if we take the time to look seriously. Please raise your glass to 2025 and its possibilities!"
They say how New Years Day goes, so goes the year. I celebrated with friends over a delightful southern style meal, The gathering and meal itself is not how the year goes for me. I encountered the fear of sharing from the heart in our table conversation, listening to the way folks avoid. Trusting how I also practice this avoidance in favor of trivial in social situations , I came up, right there at the table, with a way to shift the conversation to our actual experiences of the trauma filled year past and celebrate our gratitude for being alive, hopeful and courageous about our choices for living 2025. Our lives, after all are a great mandala. LOve your mandala of course, LiDona.May 2025 be abundant with possibility for the healing of the overwhelming suffering of these times in the world.
